Right now, sit up straight and concentrate on breathing deeply, in and out. Try it for ten deep breaths. See? I told you it helps! It’s only one day a week. God calls it the Sabbath—a day set aside for rest and renewal. Amazing how few of us hold to this command. In our society, we’ve created a mind-set where it almost seems noble to set aside the Sabbath command in order to work. Yet God takes it very seriously. He himself chose to rest after creating the world; surely we can do the same after our workweeks!
What is your dream job? If you could do anything in the whole wide world, no limits or conditions, what would you do? This doesn’t have to have anything to do with your current career (unless, of course, it’s your dream job). Take a few minutes and really think it through. What is your passion? What brings you joy? Once you think through the questions, pause for a moment. Is there one step you can take to bring you closer to that dream? One thing you can do to create the opportunity?
